HISTORY
Our Classical Studies History curriculum (Memoria Press, Greenleaf Press, BJUP) follows a 3-year continuum of History, beginning with Yr. 1: Ancient History (Creation, Sumer/Mesopotamia, Egypt, the Hebrews, Greece, Roman Republic), continuing with Yr. 2: history of the Roman Empire through the Middle Ages and Renaissance, and finishing with Yr. 3: Reformation, followed by Exploration of the New World and American History at least through the Spanish-American War (sometimes through WWI an WWII).
After an overview of each basic period of history, we will engage more deeply in studying the lives and stories of the great men (and some women) who characterize these times. History should be read and studied as just that—story; it is His (God’s) Story, and we must study it to better know and understand Him!
